There is a Season for All Things...

The last words my mother spoke to me were "Vicky, for everything there is a season". This was her way of letting me know it was time for her to go home. That her time with me here on this earth had come and gone but that I needed to trust the seasons ahead would lead us back to one another when it was time. She was not someone to quote the Bible, so this being her last words to me, caused these words to echo in my heart every since. I have spent hours meditating and journaling on this passage from Ecclesiastes 3 and through it I have found that just like the winter months prepares us and the earth for spring, and spring for summer, and summer for fall; each season in our lives prepares us for the next. Although it was hard watching my mother slowly fade into a memory, those memories continue to be a part of shaping and guiding me just as she had do
ne when she walked physically beside me.

Another valuable lesson I learned through my meditation is that just as winter gives the illusion of death and we know that come spring the green life will be resurrected once more, we can have the same peace of mind with our loved ones. Although they appear to be gone, the season will come when they are with you again. It is not forever that they have left but for now. Trust each season to be what you need in order for you to better learn focus, faith, strength, love, forgiveness and so much more.

Trust that no matter which season you are currently in that it is KEY to your ability to rise in the next.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 tells us that "to every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace (ESV)".
